Code Enforcement Investigations

Fire Marshal

Prevention activities are carried out by a staff of 1 full-time Fire Marshal, 3 full-time Assistant Fire Marshals, several on-call Assistant Fire Marshals, and a full-time Community Risk Reduction Coordinator.

Assistant Fire Marshals

Assistant Fire Marshals receive law enforcement training and are responsible for local fire code enforcement, investigating the cause and origin of fires, bomb threats and incidents involving explosives.

Inspections

Inspections of area businesses are performed with the assistance of fire crews to ensure an environment of safety and to become familiar with the layout of public buildings. They may create a drawing of the building to gather information necessary to protect that building in the event of an emergency.
