James City County offers year round sports classes, clinics, leagues and events for youth and adults. Sport classes and clinics cater to development and foundational skills and tournaments and leagues allow for competition and friendly play. Check out the complete list of year-round programs! Please contact us if you have questions or are interested in partnering to offer a camp, class or clinic. Registration closes 1 week before program start date.

Introduction to Pickleball
Coming this fall to Veterans Park, 3793 Ironbound Road!
Get introduced to one of the nation’s fasting growing sports — pickleball! Pickleball is a paddlesport that combines badminton, tennis, and table tennis and is played on smaller tennis courts. Learn the basic rules and playing fundamentals. All equipment is provided.
Intermediate Pickleball Clinics
Coming this fall to Veterans Park, 3793 Ironbound Road!
This clinic is designed to improve consistency for intermediate players by working on specific skills to have longer rallies, make more effective shots, improve shot strokes, and introduce strategy into play. Participants should already be experienced pickleball players able to engage in multi-shot rallies and play various types of shots. Students must have their own paddles. The instructor is a certified PPR pickleball instructor through the USAPA.

Preschool Fine Motor Skills ● Ages 2-4

Put those busy bodies to work! Focus on fine motor control skills through a variety of fun and unique games while also learning sports including soccer and basketball.
Multi-Sport Minis ● Ages 3-5

Try out a sports sampler! Practice sports including baseball, soccer, basketball and more. Each week introduces and new sport!
Tot Shots ● Ages 3-5

Learn the basics of basketball! Children will focus on individual skills and learn fundamental tactics and ball-handling skills.
Pint-Sized Soccer Series ● Ages 4-8
Saturdays, Sept. 23-Oct. 14 ▪ $30/class
Half-Pint, Ages 4-5: 9:45-10:30 a.m.
Full-Pint, Ages 6-8: 10:45-11:30 a.m.

Develop balance, movement and soccer skills in a positive sports environment. Half Pint focuses on individual technical development while Full Pint is designed to hone those skills and introduce team play.
Jump Shots ● Ages 6-8

Time to up the game! This basketball course is designed to introduce participants to team play and dynamics in addition to honing other fundamental and technical skills.
Glow! Bike Ride ● All Ages
Friday, Sept. 29 ▪ 6:30-8:30 p.m. ▪ $5
Freedom Park, 5537 Centerville Road
Grab your bike for a glowing nighttime ride! Riders of all ages and experiences are welcome to attend this group ride. We'll discuss important tips of how to ride safely at night and there will be a contest for best and brightest bike!

Adult Leagues

Fall Adult Coed Soccer
Women ages 18+, Men ages 30+
Sundays, starting Sept. 17 ●5-10 p.m. ● $750/team
Warhill Sports Complex, 4900 Stadium Road
Six weeks of league play culminates in an end-of-season playoff game. Team captains must commit before Aug. 15 by emailing sarah.cochrane@jamescitycountyva.gov. Players must all be listed on the team roster by signing up through PerfectMind/Xplor. A team payment of $750 will be due the first week of games.
