[ARCHIVED] Crews Respond to Fire at Historic Powhatan Resort Timeshare

Historic Powhatan Resort Fire Ladder Trucks

On May 11 at 10:36 a.m., Emergency Communications received a call about a fire at the Historic Powhatan Resort timeshare. Units from the James City County Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene at 10:41 a.m. to find a two-story unit on fire. The structure was unoccupied and no one was injured. The investigation concluded that the fire began when sparks from a piece of equipment operated by construction crews ignited the building. The fire was brought under control at 11:16 a.m.

Williamsburg Fire Department and York County Department of Fire and Life Safety assisted.
